Are you ceasing your operations as a travel counsellor? Your certificate is suspended as soon as your employment relationship with the travel agency is severed or your service contract ends. Thus, you must remove your affiliation with your employer in the online Travel Counsellor Certification Management service. You must notify us of the situation within 15 days of the change.

Temporary leave of 2 years or less

If you intend to resume your operations after a temporary leave of 2 years or less, you must pay your certificate renewal duties and update your contact information. This will make it easier for you to go back to work, as you will not have to file a new certificate request. Note that if you do not pay the renewal before the deadline, your certificate will be canceled.

When you resume your operations, you must provide the Office with the name of the agency for which you are working. To do so, you can use the online Travel Counsellor Certificate Management service.

Temporary leave of more than 2 years

If, however, you plan to stop working for more than 2 years, it is best to cancel your certificate. To do so, send us an email at infoccv@opc.gouv.qc.ca. Be sure to indicate your name, your CCV number as well as the reason for the cancellation.

Resuming operations after a leave of more than 2 years

If you have not been affiliated with a travel agency for more than 2 years, and you wish to go back into operation, you will have to file a new certificate request and pass an exam once again.

Permanent leave

If you are permanently leaving your work as a travel counsellor, you must cancel your certificate. To do so, send us an email at infoccv@opc.gouv.qc.ca. Be sure to indicate your name, your CCV number as well as the reason for the cancellation.
