When the equipment related to your services is defective, for example, a terminal, a receiver, a recorder, a converter, or a satellite dish, you do not have to pay for services during the repair period if:

  • the device was provided to you by the service provider when the contract was signed or during the contract’s coverage period;
  • the repairs are covered by a warranty;
  • the merchant did not provide you with a replacement device free of charge during the repair period.

Applicable warranties

The law provides several warranties, including quality and a reasonable lifetime. These warranties, in accordance with the law, apply automatically and free of charge: a device (a terminal, for example) must last for a reasonable period of time under normal use. It may also be covered by a warranty offered by the merchant or the manufacturer.
