Some financial institutions charge membership or renewal fees. You do not have to pay these fees before you start using your card. You may also be charged fees to replace your credit card in cases where, for example, you lost your card, or it was stolen or used fraudulently.

Fee increases

The financial institution may increase membership, renewal or replacement fees for a credit card. To do so, they must send you a notice at least 30 days before the increase comes into effect.
