Are you about to exceed the credit limit you have been granted? The financial institution can only allow you to exceed the limit if they send you a notice, in accordance with either of the 2 options presented below.

You cannot be charged any fees as a result of exceeding the limit.

Notice sent by email

If you provided an email address or another technological address for that purpose, the institution must send you a notice without delay indicating that your available credit is less than $100 (or any other amount you have indicated to that effect).

Notice sent by another means

If you did not provide an email address or another technological address for that purpose, the institution must send you a notice by another means (e.g., by mail) indicating that you have carried out an operation that has exceeded your credit limit.
