Contracts pertaining to funeral services or a sepulture entered into after a person’s death are subject to certain rules.

Required information

The contract must indicate:

  • the name and address of the purchaser;
  • the name and address of the deceased person;
  • the name and address of the vendor and, if applicable, the vendor’s representative;
  • the contract number;
  • the date on which the contract is signed;
  • the address at which the contract is signed;
  • a description of each item and service;
  • the price of each item and service;
  • the amount of the taxes, indicated separately;
  • the total amount payable for goods;
  • the total amount payable for services;
  • the total price of the contract;
  • the terms of payment;
  • the mandatory information regarding the price of goods and services, as provided for under section 5.1 of the Regulation respecting the application of the Act respecting prearranged funeral services and sepultures.

Copy of the contract

After signature, the vendor must give you a copy of the contracts.
