A home renovation contractor comes to your home as you requested. The Regulation respecting the application of the Consumer Protection Act considers this contractor as an itinerant merchant when he or she sells, installs or repair:

  • doors and windows;
  • thermal insulation;
  • roofing or exterior wall covering of a building.

As soon as you inter into agreement at your home, you have 10 days to cancel this agreement. This 10-day deadline begins as soon as you receive a signed copy of the contract. This is the case even if you asked the contractor to come to your home.

For more information, you can consult the Cancelling a contract concluded in person page in the section on home renovations.
