If your alarm system is defective, you do not have to pay for services during the period of repairs to necessary equipment if :

  • the equipment was provided to you by the service provider when the contract was concluded or during the term of the contract;
  • the repairs are covered by a warranty;
  • the merchant did not provide you with replacement equipment free of charge during the repair period.

Applicable warranties

The law provides several warranties, including quality and a reasonable lifetime. The reasonable lifetime warranty provides that a product (such as an alarm system) must serve for normal use for a reasonable period of time. It may also be covered by a warranty offered by the merchant or the manufacturer.
