A merchant, such as those who provide lawn maintenance services, cannot make false or misleading statements. The services rendered by a contractor must conform to the agreement they have with you.

If a merchant promised to completely eliminate weeds or insects from your lawn, or assured that they would only use environmentally friendly products, they must fulfill those promises.

If you did not receive the full services promised to you, here are your options:

Negotiating with a merchant

First, try to reach an agreement with the merchant. Visit the page Negotiating with a merchant to find out how to do so.

Sending a formal notice

If you cannot reach an agreement, you can send a formal notice. The page Sending a formal notice provides further information on this topic.

Filing a complaint with the small claims court

If this approach fails, you can resort to the courts. The page on small claims court provides further information on this topic.
