The registre des entreprises du Québec contains information on businesses established in Québec or that conduct their operations in Québec. This register, which is held by the registraire des entreprises, provides various information about a business, such as its address, its directors or associates (if applicable), any other names under which the business operates or has operated, indications that the business is in bankruptcy, etc.

The Corporations Canada database lets users search for federally incorporated companies, according to a law passed by the Canadian Parliament. This tool lists corporations and non-profit organizations operating in Canada that are federally incorporated.

The register of personal and movable real rights (RDPRM) makes it possible to find out whether certain properties have been put up as security or whether they are subject to debt. This government register held by the Ministère de la Justice makes public the rights relative to movable assets (e.g., a business asset, a road vehicle, a boat, a plane or financial products) as well as certain personal rights.

The Ministère de la Justice offers an online service to consult excerpts from hearing rolls on criminal, penal and civil matters before the Superior Court of Québec and the Court of Québec. The information is updated on a daily basis.

A search tool made available by the Société québécoise d'information juridique (SOQUIJ) allows users to find a decision rendered by certain courts and regulatory bodies in Québec. Decisions are listed on this site on the basis of specific criteria.

The Registry of class actions held by the Ministère de la Justice provides access to various information on class actions filed with a Québec court since January 1, 2009.

The Licence holders’ repertory provides access to the list of contractors that hold a valid licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ). This tool can be used to find a contractor to carry out construction or renovation work and check whether a contractor has any restrictions attached to its licence.

The registre public de la Loi sur les pesticides (in French only) held by the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs contains applications submitted as well as permits and certificates issued for the sale and use of pesticides. For example, a company specialized in pest control management is required hold this type of permit and an exterminator must hold such a certificate. The Ministère also publishes a registre des déclarations de culpabilité (in French only) that lists offences under the Environment Quality Act, the Pesticides Act and the Dam Safety Act or their attendant regulations.

The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation’s online services provide access to certain lists of licensed establishments in a variety of domains. For certain sectors, it is also possible to find out whether establishments have been the subject of any convictions.

The registers held by the Autorité des marchés financiers provide access to lists of individuals and businesses authorized to engage in various activities in Québec’s financial sector. Among other things, these registers make it possible to check for whom a person is carrying out his or her activities or whether his or her authorization is subject to any limitations or penalties.

The Ministère de la Famille’s services to families provide an interactive map that makes it possible to quickly and easily locate educational childcare services, schools and community organizations that provide services to families and that are recognized by the Ministère de la Famille. A directory of childcare services registered with the Ministère by region is also available.

The Government of Canada’s recalls, advisories and safety alerts search tool lists published notices regarding consumer and health, food and vehicle products.

More specifically, Transport Canada also offers a Motor Vehicle Safety Recalls Database.

Consumers can also consult food recall notices issued by the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ) on Québec.ca.
