The Consumer Protection Act stipulates that goods must withstand normal use for a reasonable length of time. Therefore, the merchant who sold you the good (or its manufacturer) have obligations to respect when the good is defective. Regardless of the exchange and refund policy, the merchant can choose among the following course of action:

  • repair the good;
  • exchange it;
  • refund you.
