You can cancel your treatment package at any time. You will have to pay a penalty if you have started receiving treatments. Whether you concluded your contract in person, by telephone or online, the same rules apply.
Cancelling before the start of treatments
If you cancel your package before you start receiving treatments, the merchant cannot claim any fees or compensation.
Cancelling after the start of treatments
If you have started receiving treatments, you will have to pay the 2 following amounts:
- at least the cost of the treatments received;
- a penalty provided for by law. This penalty corresponds to the lowest of the following amounts: $50 or 10% of the treatments that have not been given.
Example: You purchased a package of 8 laser hair removal treatments for a total cost of $800. After the first treatment, you decide to cancel the package. You will have to pay $100 for the treatment you received. You will also have to pay a $50 penalty.
Procedure to cancel your package
To cancel your package, you must send the cancellation form that was enclosed with the contract or another written notice to the merchant.
We recommend that you send the document via registered mail. The contract is cancelled from the moment the form or notice is sent.
As of the postmark date, the merchant has 10 days to issue a refund, if applicable.
Cancelling a purchase made on a group purchasing website
If you purchased a prepaid card or a voucher that can be redeemed for a treatment package on a group purchasing website, you can cancel the purchase if you paid by credit card when the merchant that manages the website does not respect its obligations. Cancellation terms for the purchase of products
If you purchased products for a total value of more than $100 from the merchant providing the treatments, you can cancel the accessory contract. You must proceed, based on the option that provides you with the most time, within 10 days of the following dates:
- the delivery of the products;
- the treatment start date.
To cancel your purchase, you have 2 options:
- return the items to the merchant;
- send the cancellation form that was enclosed with the accessory contract or another written notice to the merchant. In such a case, you must return the items to the merchant within 10 days after sending the form or notice.
If you are cancelling your treatment package, you can cancel the accessory contract at the same time. You simply have to return the items to the merchant within 10 days after cancelling your package. The items, however, must have been in your possession for fewer than 2 months or less than one-third of the total duration of the treatment package, whichever period is the shortest.
You must return the products in the same condition in which you received them, otherwise the merchant can refuse to cancel the contract.
From the moment the contract is cancelled, the merchant has 10 days to issue a refund. The merchant is also responsible for any fees incurred to return the products.
