Prearranged funeral services and prepurchased sepultures, or “funeral prearrangements”, comprise all the services associated with the care of the body and the funeral of the deceased person.

The contracts must have been entered into separately during the life of the concerned person. They can be purchased by another person if these conditions are respected.

Prearranged funeral services contract

This contract comprises all the goods and services provided in association with the death, excluding the sepulture and its maintenance. It can contain:

  • embalmment;
  • visitation;
  • decorative elements;
  • transportation;
  • coffin or urn;
  • ceremony;
  • cremation;
  • burial.

Prepurchased sepultures contract

This contract involves the purchase of a compartment or any other space in a cemetery, columbarium or a location used for a similar purpose. The services pertaining to the maintenance of this space are included.
