Other conditions to respect
In addition to the obligation to post and comply with the price accuracy policy, merchants choosing to exempt themselves from the obligation to label each product for sale in their establishment, must meet certain conditions provided by law. Merchants must:
- indicate the product price and description on the shelf label and, in the case of foodstuffs, his unit measure cost, for example by the litre or kilogram;
- make optical readers available to consumers;
- give consumers a detailed cash register receipt that includes a description of the product purchased and their establishment's telephone number.
