Introduction
While honest, informative advertising does exist, we are often confronted with advertising that gives us false hopes and misleads us. The Consumer Protection Act
is designed to eliminate certain advertising practices which use any and all means, even deception, to get you to buy. However, false or misleading claims are illegal, ranging, for example, from insinuating that cars are available for sale at very reduced prices whereas they are actually available for leasing to advertising leading you to believe that a book will enable you to become a millionaire.
