Contract cancellation
At any time
You can terminate a contract for services involving sequential performance governed by the Act under the following circumstances:
- If the merchant has not yet begun to provide the services (e.g. classes have not started), he cannot claim costs or demand compensation;
- If you have begun receiving the services and wish to terminate the contract, you must pay at least the cost of services received (classes taken) in addition to a penalty provided for by law. This penalty should correspond to the lesser of: $50 or 10% of the cost of services not yet received.
Procedure
To terminate the contract, you must send the termination form to the merchant, who must attach it to the contract, or any other written notice to the same effect. We advise you to send it by registered mail. The merchant has ten days, as of the date you sent the notice, to return the money he owes you, if applicable.
